CHAPTER VII
Hey y'all! Happy reading!
For a few minutes, Vidith doesn't feel a thing. He just looks straight at the road and goes numb until his nerves could tell him otherwise.
"Did I hear this right?" was all he can think right now.
"Roo.. Roo, I am so sorry Roo. I dont know what to say right now. I mean, I didn't know Roo. They was no way I did. Roo.." is all he keeps saying.
"Vidith relax. Are you sure you are okay? You could stop for a while if you will."
"No. We have to get going but why didn't you even try telling me Roo? You know how much of a deal this is."
"Vidith, do you really want to hear this right now?"
"Roo, please. Don't do this. Just tell me why you didn't."
"I tried."
"When? You never reached out to me."
Riu inhales a whole lot of air and says, "Vidith, you remember what happened the last time we spoke?"
"You talking about eight years back?"
"Nah. Do you remember a phone call about three months back where you were probably just able to listen to ugly weeps?"
"You think I would?"
"Yeah, probably not. See when she was in the hospital, all I could see was her bare hands so pale that reminded me the times she carried me in those very hands. I couldn't process anything Vidith. I was helpless. The only person whom I wanted to talk to was you. Even after I promised myself that I wouldn't contact you after what happened last time."
Vidith feels himself being killed by every words she throws at him.
Now when he comes to think of it, he did get a phone call where he could hear particularly nothing.
He had cut the call feeling that his time was being wasted. If he had only called back once. He could have been there for his only best friend.
"I didn't want to disturb you any further." Riu finishes.
"Roo, I am so sorry. I was really busy back then. See I was getting married and all so it.."
"You were what!?" Riu cuts him in with a shriek so loud it makes his kidneys perform a jerk.
