CHAPTER IV
Happy reading!
The wind blowing right across Riu's nose reminds her that she still owns sensory receptors making her want to do a little hippy dance.
But considering the position she is in right now, it falls off her to-do list.
Riu finds herself walking with Vidith accompanied with mud so slimy.
It feels as though the birds chirping around them wants her attention for she can feel the hair on her hands stand straight to their sweet rhythm.
She looks up at the sky yet again rubbing her eyes so hard that it hurts.
The goofy sun trying to reach her face so forcefully ain't helping her hypoglycemic mood either.
Her mouth opens wide indulging in a yawn making her want to sleep.
But the aura around her stops her from doing so.
The pine trees surrounding her stand so tall; it makes her feel like an infant baby.
She feels their grin and automatically smiles to herself.
"I am guessing you are enjoying the walk?" Vidith interrupts all of a sudden noticing her change of mood.
"Honestly, shut up and walk." Riu ends the conversation gracefully.
She quickly starts marching forward for its already past afternoon.
"Hey, you are plain rude at times." Vidith defends.
"Thanks for taking your mind off the killer mission you are about to implement on me enough to tell me that." Riu interrupts.
"Always my pleasure, darl!"
"No, seriously. You should teach yourself to shut up at times."
"Will do, but only if you care enough to educate yourself in regards to the warm inklings of kind words."
Vidith finds himself being hit on the head and both of them start laughing.
Now, they start taking baby footsteps and head towards the shed.
"Vidith, you always knew what you wanted to do?" Riu asks suddenly.
"What does that mean?"
"Ahh, you are really amazing when it comes to your work and I just keep wondering as to if you were always sure you wanted to go for music?"
Immediately, Vidith says "Now how do you know how ah-mazing I am?
"Dude, I don't live under rocks. There is social media for a valid reason." Riu defends herself.
"Yeah, for stalkers to feel safe. Sure thing."
"Seriously, just get to the point."
Vidith stays quiet for a while. A few seconds later he says;
"You know Riu, I always knew that I wasnt like most of the kids when we were small; who wanted to pursue studies. Those days, kids craved to do business, be an entrepreneur, go to med school; you name it.
I was ashamed at myself for not taking interest in any of the regular to-go-to subjects and assumed I was abnormal. It may sound bizarre, but it's true."
I was ashamed at myself for not taking interest in any of the regular to-go-to subjects and assumed I was abnormal. It may sound bizarre, but it's true."
He stopped speaking and looked around for no reason and looked at her.
"What did you do later?" Riu asks slowly.
Vidith smiles at her so very fondly and says, "I just remember vaguely that I held onto myself. Time flew by. It gave me perspective."
"Woah, that's convincing" Riu frowns.
"Listen kiddo. Tell me what's really on your mind?"
"I am not a kid, you monster. It's just that when we were friends I never really knew what you wanted to do. I never asked you either. So it just got me thinking." Riu says finally.
"Ah, so I am assuming you aced psychology? You see, I am not much of a stalker so care to enlighten me?" Vidith says playfully.
He was expecting to receive another firm slap but notices that she keeps quiet.
"What's up with that face?" he asks.
"It's nothing. So I am guessing that's the shed." Riu points out to her left in the process of diverting the topic.
So it was.
Vidith pushes the motorcycle towards the shed while Riu trails behind him.
Minutes later, it comes to their knowledge that it will take about two hours for the work to be done.
"It's a tyre. We are not asking him to make us dinner. Should I remind him that?" Riu whispers to Vidith as she points to the lazy mechanic sitting on an old leather seat.
"Roo, it's lunch time. They are probably going to get some food like regular human beings while they remind us to get out of their mundane break."
Slightly uncomfortable on hearing her old nickname, she nods while her stomach runs a train with weird noises.
"Let's go grab some food as well. Come on." Vidith laughs as he hears the same.
"Dude, there isn't a single shop here. Where you gonna eat?"
"Ahem, its Bangalore. You always will find a place to eat. Just follow me." Vidith commands like an officer.
"Doofus."
